Itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier » Tetouan » Chefchaouen [112 Km]

Today, we will drive through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city to enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains until we reach Chefchaouen, one of the stunning villages at the feet of the Rif mountains. Chefchaouen medina has a Spanish-style square surrounded by arts and crafts stores, rooftop restaurants, and cafes. Spend the night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.

Day 2: Chefchaouen » Old Roman City: Volubilis » Meknes » Fes [277 km]

After a tasty breakfast in the riad, our 8-day desert trip from Tangier to Marrakech starts towards Volubilis, crossing via Ouazan and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, we will discover the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history. Then, we will drive to Meknes city, where we will stop for lunch and explore the historical walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour, and Moulay Ismail shrine. Later in the afternoon, we head to Fes city for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fes Guided Tour

Today, we will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit begins with the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco during the 16th century. We will visit sites of cultural and historical interest, including Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, visit the tiles cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.

Day 4: Fes » Azrou Cedar Forest » Midelt » Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes) [469 km]

After breakfast in your hotel, we will travel to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. Travel through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. Notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach Errachidia, where you will have lunch and enjoy Berber hospitality. Travel along Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon and be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before starting your camel ride to spend a night in the desert camp with Berber music and sandboarding.

Day 5: Merzouga » Jerf » Todgha Gorges » Dades Valley [269 km]

Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes of the Erg Chebbi before making your way back to the hotel by camels. After breakfast and a shower, leave the desert and drive through the Saghro mountains. Take a short walk through Todra Gorge before arriving in Dades Valley for dinner and accommodation. Spend the night in Dades Gorges, in a local riad/hotel.

Day 6: Dades Valley » Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Marrakech [326 km]

After breakfast in the hotel, travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. This route through Dades Valley is known as the way of the thousand kasbahs. Visit the cinema city of Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-Hami El Glaoui (a UNESCO heritage site). Drive across the High Atlas mountains, enjoying the panoramic view and attractive Berber villages along the way until we reach Marrakech for an overnight stay in a local hotel.

Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing Tour with a Local Guide

Continuing our 8-day desert trip from Tangier to Marrakech, we will start exploring Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco.” Visit the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a local restaurant near the famous square, walk through the souks and buy souvenirs or enjoy the art of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover the city by yourself.

Day 8: Transfer to the Airport

Today, depending on your flight, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
