Starting and ending in Marrakech throughout the High Atlas mountains with its fascinating scenery and Berber communities, this ten-day adventure lasts Following south will find you the well-known Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

You will cross the Todra Gorge, a little corridor with spectacular views, mud homes and towering cliffs, on your Marrakech desert journey. Experience the camel ride over the sand dunes to a Bedouin tent as well; you will spend an overnight in the great quiet of the desert.

Before seeing the walled City of Fez, site of the amazing Kasbah Gate, you will meet nomads in the Hamada “black desert,” learn about the culture and local environment. And plenty more still is ahead.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Marrakech: transfer to your Hotel / Riad

Your 10-day private tour from Marrakech begins with a transfer to your hotel. Explore the main sights of Marrakech, including Jamma el Fna square, Kotubia mosque, souks, and palaces. Visit the new part of the city, Gueliz, and the Menara gardens. Overnight stay in a hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Marrakech » Ait Benhaddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges [326 km]

Drive through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains to reach Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue towards Roses Valley, known for its annual “Festival of Roses.” Arrive in Dades Gorges and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorges » Todra Gorges » Erfoud » Merzouga Sahara [269 km]

Drive towards Todra Gorges and walk in the narrow canyon. Continue through Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Visit a local fossil factory and shop. Proceed to Rissani to visit the local souk. Arrive in Merzouga and start a camel ride into the desert dunes. Stay overnight in desert tents with a desert dinner and Berber music around the campfire.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga desert & visit a nomad family [40 km]

Spend the day exploring the Merzouga desert. Try sand-boarding, ski in the dunes, and explore the area by 4×4. Visit Khamlia village, famous for its music. Enjoy the sunset at the dunes and spend the night in Berber tents with local music and dinner.

Day 5: Merzouga » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Midelt [263 km]

Watch the sunrise in the desert and ride camels back to the hotel. After breakfast and a shower, drive towards Rissani and Erfoud. Continue to Midelt in the Atlas Mountains and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 6: Midelt » Azrou Cedar forest » Ifrane city » Fes [206 km]

Explore Midelt, then drive to Azrou and Ifrane, a famous ski resort. Continue to Fes and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 7: Fes guided tour

Enjoy a guided tour of Fes, visiting the Fontaine Ennajarine, Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the Karawiyyin Mosque. Visit the tannery and ceramics cooperative. Spend the afternoon exploring the medina and have dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in a local riad/hotel.

Day 8: Fes » Chefchaouen (The blue pearl) [198 km]

Drive from Fes to Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains. Explore the medina in Chefchaouen and stay overnight in a local hotel with dinner.

Day 9: Chefchaouen » Rabat » Casablanca [339 km]

Drive to Rabat, the capital, to explore the main sights and attractions. Continue to Casablanca, the largest Moroccan city, and stay overnight.

Day 10: Casablanca » Marrakech [241 km]

Visit the main attractions and monuments in Casablanca, including Hassan II Mosque. Drive to Marrakech, concluding your 10-day trip.
