The two-night camel trekking adventure in the Merzouga desert begins in the late afternoon. We organize the camel ride for the two nights from a hotel near the sand dunes. During this trip, you’ll visit two types of desert sand dunes and the black desert near the border between Morocco and Algeria.
The trek will take you to the highest sand dunes in the heart of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes (Merzouga desert). This is a great opportunity to capture beautiful pictures of the sunset and sunrise from the highest dunes.
Upon arrival at the camp, we will leave the camels and take the sandboarding equipment to climb the highest dunes for sandboarding and to watch the sunset. At the camp, a wonderful dinner will be served, accompanied by Berber drum music around a fire in the middle of the Sahara desert. It will be a magical night with a clear sky and sparkling stars. You’ll spend the night in a private nomad tent.
Wake up early to watch the breathtaking sunrise. After breakfast in the camp, we’ll ride camels to visit an oasis in the Sahara and have lunch there. After relaxing, we’ll ride the camels back to the camp. We’ll leave the camels and walk to the highest dunes in Merzouga, returning to the camp after sunset for dinner and an overnight stay in nomad tents.
In the morning, after a refreshing shower and a hearty breakfast in the desert camp, we’ll ride the camels back to Merzouga. You can choose to return by camels again or opt for a 4×4 car as an alternative.
