Itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier » Chefchaouen » Fes [309 Km]

On the first day of your 6-day tour from Tangier, we will meet you at the port of Tangier and cross the Rif Mountains and Tetouan city, enjoying the magnificent mountain views until we reach Chefchaouen, a beautiful village at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen’s medina has a Spanish-style square, surrounded by arts and crafts shops, restaurants, and cafes where you can have lunch before we continue to Fes for the night.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing Tour with a Local Guide

After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities and medinas, founded by Idriss II. Fes is a center of Arab-Muslim culture, featuring the Mosque of the Andalusians, tanneries, district potters, and the medina. Enjoy lunch in a palace in the medina. In the afternoon, continue visiting the Hispano-Moorish buildings and Medersas Nejjarine.

Day 3: Fes » Ifrane » Azrou Cedar Forest » Merzouga Desert [467 km]

After breakfast, we drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the way, we stop at the cedar forests to see monkeys in their natural habitat. Travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the beautiful Ziz gorges carved into volcanic rock. As you approach Errachidia, the landscape changes to reveal desert hints. After lunch, continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, leave your luggage in a hotel and take a camel trek to a Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The camel trek takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the camp, where we stay the night in Berber tents equipped with mattresses, blankets, and pillows. After dinner, gather around the fire and enjoy traditional Berber songs and drums under the stars.

Day 4: Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges [255 km]

Wake up early to enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the dunes and take a camel ride back to the hotel. After a shower and breakfast, leave for Tinghir and Todra Gorges, finally arriving in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Dades Gorges » Ait Ben Haddou » Marrakech [325 km]

After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs offers plenty of photo opportunities. Visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa.” Enjoy lunch at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After visiting this UNESCO site, continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. Stop to enjoy the stunning views before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Marrakech Sightseeing Tour with a Local Guide

Today, explore Marrakech, “the Red City of Morocco.” Our city guide will ensure you see all the sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace, and Ben Youssef Koranic school. Walk through the streets to see the different craftsmen of the medina performing their jobs before arriving at the famous Djamaa El Fna. Enjoy lunch in a nearby restaurant, then visit the Majorelle gardens and a small tower in Gueliz, the new town of Marrakech.
