Throughout the journey, you’ll be accompanied by breathtaking sea views and the roaring Atlantic waves. The Erg Chebbi dunes (Merzouga) camel trekking is led by one of our most skilled local guides, supported by a dedicated camp and cooking team. A caravan of camels will transport our belongings.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Marrakech: transfer to your Hotel / Riad

Your 12-day private tour from Marrakech begins with a transfer to your hotel. Explore the main sights of Marrakech, including Jamma el Fna square, Kotubia mosque, souks, and palaces. Visit the new part of the city, Gueliz, and the Menara gardens. Overnight stay in a hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Full Day to Visit Marrakech with a local guide

Meet the local guide for a walking tour of the Medina, have lunch in the heart of the old town, and explore Majorelle Garden. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech » Ait Ben Haddou » Ouarzazate [195 km]

Depart for Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah and the Cinematographic Centers. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate » Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) [367 km]

Head to Merzouga, crossing Rose Valley and visiting Todgha Gorge. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 5: Explore Merzouga area (Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert) [40km]

Explore the Merzouga area and enjoy Gnawa music at Khamlia village. Return to the hotel and then take camels to spend the night in the Sahara desert under Berber tents, enjoying the starry sky.

Day 6: Merzouga Camel trek & Overnight in desert camp

Continue your 12-day trip from Marrakech by exploring the desert. Ride camels to the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest in Morocco. Visit a Berber family and Khamlia village to listen to Gnawa music. Visit Berber nomads and a palm tree oasis. After lunch in Merzouga, ride camels to the desert camp.

Spend the night in the Sahara camp, enjoying Berber drum music, the sunset, and the sunrise. Overnight in desert tents after a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 7: Merzouga » Rissani » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Errachidia » Midelt [263 km]

Head to Midelt, visiting Rissani, Ziz Valley, and crossing Errachidia. Overnight in Midelt.

Day 8: Midlet » Atlas Mountains » Azrou (Cedar Forest) » Fes Imperial City [204 km]

Depart for Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Feed the monkeys at the majestic Cedar Woods of Azrou. Cross Ifrane and overnight in Fes.

Day 9: Fes Sightseeing tour with a local guide

Explore Fes’ medieval medina with a local guide, visit the Tanneries and Ceramics of the town. Overnight in a traditional riad in Fes.

Day 10: Fes » Volubilis » Meknes » Rabat [205 km]

Leave Fes to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, have lunch in Meknes, and overnight at a hotel in Rabat.

Day 11: Rabat » Casablanca » Marrakech [323 km]

Visit Rabat’s historical sites and head to Casablanca. Visit Hassan II Mosque, have a drink or lunch at Rick’s Café or by the Atlantic Ocean, then head to Marrakech.

Day 12: Free day in Marrakech

Luxury tents have ensuite bathrooms, showers, and towels. A cozy tent offers communal facilities and hot showers outside. You must bring your own towel and shower supplies.

Does the desert camp have any facilities for showering?

Each luxury tent comes with its own private bathroom, complete with a shower, soap, shampoo, and towels. You are required to bring your own towel and shower accessories due to the communal hot showers outside the tent at Comfortable Tent.
